The majority of persons with severe disabilities came from rural areas and do not have access to services. The program was directed towards the rural poor and it fulfilled this criteria.
The program was supported by the community. They showed commitment and support to the programs at all levels. The severely disabled who underwent rehabilitation at our centre are now socially mobile, physically independent and economically productive. They have gained acceptance within the family and the village community. The community now views disability more positively with the paraplegic and the carer being the role models.
Carer Attendant Training Demonstration training is being provided in hospitals, at our indoor services, skin, bowel, bladder and bones care management to prevent complication & enable early rehabilitation.
