Spinal Injury Rehabilitation
The Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy and the Orthotic department of the center is well equipped to manage the physical rehabilitation of persons with Spinal Cord Injury. Its well-trained professional and auxiliary staff has a long experience and insight as the center pioneered and demonstrated the concept of comprehensive rehabilitation of spinal cord injured persons in a cost effective manner. The center takes pride in comprehensively rehabilitating over 400 persons with spinal cord injury to date. Peer counseling, Psychosocial and Vocational counseling backs up the physical rehabilitation followed by regular follow up visits to monitor progress and problems facing those discharged.

The Physiotherapy & Occupational therapy unit is also equipped to handle outpatients for pain relief, sports injuries, occupational disorders, pediatric conditions, fractures etc. The units are well equipped with the state of the art electrical, thermal and exercise equipments.

Transit Home

Since 1999 the 20-bed transit home of the center caters to the need of post hospital care and rehabilitation of persons with severe paralysis and such other severe orthopedic conditions. The comprehensive service ranges from skin care, bladder & bowel management to gaining maximum physical independence along with peer, psychosocial and vocational counseling so as to enable the person to be productive and integrate with his community and society as a whole.
